Hope
Our friends Jim and Janet found Hope after what looked like, most probably, being hit by a moped. She had a big gash in her mouth. They did an amazing job and got her strong and healthy again but then they had to return home to America. I was happy to foster her until their return. Hope had settled in extremely well at ours and on Jim and Janet's return we decided it best she just stayed with us.
When we moved to Cyprus, Hope was perfectly healthy but within a few days she started having seizures. I took her to the vet where her blood test showed she had epilepsy. She was treated with medication and she seemed ok but wasn't ever herself. I went to another vet which then also diagnosed her with FIP, Feline Infectious Peritonitis, and recommended what treatment to give to her. She was successfully treated with the help of Jim and Janet and got better but still her epilepsy was being a problem. She was having night tremors. I went to one of the best vets in Cyprus who tweaked her medication and said she had Idiopathic epilepsy. Idiopathic epilepsy is a diagnosis sometimes given for cats when there is no apparent structural cause for the pet's seizures and they suggested to have a ct scan and an mri. So far her epilepsy is under control so we haven't needed to explore more. Also whilst at this vet I mentioned that she had had FIP and she was now better. They were a little confused because the test that determines FIP was never took and they could only come to the conclusion that she had had FCoV, Feline Coronavirus.
She now potters around all day chasing crickets, playing with the others and sleeping somewhere warm.
