Welcome to Claws Retreat. I am Susie and from a young age developed a great love for cats and all animals. Whilst living on the island of Paros, Greece, I was introduced to the world of stray cats and supporting these amazing, beautiful, vulnerable creatures. Once in touch with the local animal welfare provider, I started to help out where I could. Since 2011 we have taken in over 80 stray cats, giving them love, support and a home.

In 2019 we made the decision to move to Cyprus so a huge operation was put in place to bring our then 41 cats and 2 dogs with us. We have continued to support and take in the stay cats but after 3 years we are now returning to Greece due to a residency situation out of our control which has left us with a large financial burden. 

I am having to put some cats' health problems on the back burner just so I can afford to feed them so have created this website in the hope that you would open you hearts to our cats and love them as much as we do, to like, share or even donate would mean so much to us at this time.
